What’s up with the “How many triangles” question?
Just curious, it was a riddle I answered on able2know (see How many Triangles can you find in this Image?) that started to get a steady stream of visitors many years later. Just over the last few days the visitors have spiked, and I’m wondering where all the sudden interest in this puzzle is coming from. I suspect it’s something like a Facebook app that is becoming popular and if you happen to know of a Facebook app like this please let me know in the comments.

It’s an ad on facebook that leads you to an IQ test that then asks you for information about your cell phone carrier in order to get the results.

That popular I.Q. test is wrong, by the way. They only offer up to 21 triangles, but there are 27 equilateral triangles in that picture. It’s the one with a large triangle divided into 16 smaller triangles. You can go to transum.org to check it out. Interesting.

Once you get it programed into your cell phone, how do you get it out? I had no idea what I was doing.
